An introduction from the Headteacher
Welcome to Edenfield C.E. Primary School's website which I hope you will find both helpful and informative. We are a small village primary school with just over 140 pupils on roll and one of the first things that visitors to school comment on is the warm, friendly atmosphere that is evident as soon as you walk through the door.
We are a voluntary controlled Church of England Primary School that offers education to children aged 4-11 years and the school was built in 1861 at a cost of £1588!
The school building has undergone quite a lot of alterations over the last few years ans we are now enhancing the school further and will shortly be coming to the end of phase 1 of our building works, which will include a new clasroom, corridor, dining hall and kitchen. We are very fortunate to have an extensive school field with a picturesque back drop of the hills around Edenfield. At the bottom of the sports area there is a soft play facility with an adventure playground made of recyclable plastic where children can climb and use their imagination for role play. There is also an early years play area with a soft surface which is marked out for cars/bikes and a playhouse. We also have a secure wildlife area and pond which has been improved to provide a seating area where children can sit quietly during playtimes. It is also regularly used by all pupils for science and environmental work.
A very successful Before and After School Club also operates on the site.
